Undergraduate Scholarships for Students Outwith the EU @ University of Edinburgh, UK- Subject: Any subject

Description:  20 scholarships are available for the 2011-2012 session with each award worth £2,000 per year. Awards are tenable for the duration of the programme of study.
The scholarships are competitive and awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.
They are awarded to students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh.
Students already on a programme are not eligible.
Applicants must also be nationals of a country outwith the EU

Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students @ University of Queensland, Australia- Subject: Any Subject

Description: .The scholarships are available for international students who have completed senior high school overseas equivalent to Queensland Year 12 (eg. A Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc). The scholarship is not available to students who have already commenced a postsecondary qualification or who are already studying in Australia. The successful applicants must be classed as an international student in Australia (Australian permanent residents and Australian citizens are not eligible).
The scholarship is a one-off reduction in your commencing tuition fees to the value of AUD$6000
Requirements: Candiadate must have a score that equates to a Queensland Tertiary Education rank of 96.  Must not be recipients of another scholarship
 Must be applying for the full program – not an articulation or requesting credit (other than the IB credit)
Must have a full unconditional offer
 The application must be complete including a personal statement
 Excludes quota programs
Deadline: 31 October the prior year for a Semester 1 commencement
30 April the same year for a Semester 2 commencement

Undergraduate Scholarship@ The Actuarial Foundation John Culver Woody Guidelines Academic Year 2011-2012, USA


                                                                             

Stipend: $2,000 scholarship for educational expenses.
Eligibility:Undergraduate students who will receive their undergraduate degree in December 2011, Spring or Summer 2012 and no later than August 31, 2012, rank in the top quartile of their class and have successfully completed one actuarial examination are eligible. Students must be recommended by a professor from their school (limit one application per school).
Application:Students must complete the application and write a brief essay as part of the application process (application item 6). Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential through extracurricular activities. The student should then submit the completed application and essay to a professor at the student’s school. Pakistan : Four year Undergraduate programme @National Outreach Programme at LUMS


Apply: The applicants need to submit their National Outreach Programme (NOP) application forms after receiving their matriculation results. The applicants short-listed on the basis of the eligibility criteria appear in the Preliminary Evaluation Test. After being selected on the basis of this test the students are coached and registered for the entrance test, fully funded by LUMS. Finally, the students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit, are offered admission on full scholarship. There is no separate quota for National Outreach Programme (NOP) candidates. All students, whether they apply directly or through National Outreach Programme (NOP), are evaluated on the same criteria. As regards assessment of financial need, a review committee has been established to ensure transparency in the process of awarding scholarships to all those who qualify for the admission through the National Outreach Programme (NOP).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. At least 80% marks or A+ Grade in Matriculation exam
  2. Financial need

When to Apply

Students apply to the National Outreach Programme (NOP) after clearing their Matriculation exam. Application is normally submitted at least two years ahead of the Undergraduate Programme start date e.g. the students applying in 2006 will be able to join the Undergraduate Programme in year 2008. Hence the students of Intermediate part I & II are eligible to apply.

Preliminary Evaluation Test

Students take the Preliminary Evaluation Test which is based on the Matriculation and Intermediate curricula. It comprises of two sections English and Mathematics. Each section has multiple-choice questions. The duration of the test can be 75 to 90 minutes. Students are shortlisted for the coaching session on the basis of their performance in this test.

Coaching Session

If the student is selected on the basis of the Preliminary Evaluation Test we offer a three week coaching session at LUMS. These sessions are arranged during summer vacations (July & August) every year. All expenses with regard to the boarding, lodging and coaching materials are borne by LUMS.

Test Registration and Admission Form for Undergraduate Programme: If shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the coaching session, students are asked to registered for LUMS Test. The application forms for Undergraduate Programmes are provided free of cost. The forms are filled and submitted in the Admission Office. The admission status is communicated by the end of July each year. Finally, the applicants who qualify on merit are offered admission at LUMS and are eligible for the National Outreach Programme (NOP) scholarship.

Undergraduate Scholarships-Displaced Homemaker Scholarships

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Displaced Homemaker Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to those men and women who would not otherwise be able to complete their educational goals due to family responsibilities. This scholarship is generally for older students who have put off college to raise their children and students who are returning to college after raising their children. Funds may be used to assist with childcare, transportation and basic living expenses in addition to educational costs. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.

Salary: The Archie Fund endows each scholarship at $6,000 per year. The program provides support of an individual student through up to four years of university study, provided that he/she makes satisfactory academic progress. The program ordinarily requires a grade point average of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher for the current semester and a grade point average of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher
on a
cumulative basis. Students rotate off the program after 4 years of scholarship support.
Selection Procedures
Applications may be submitted to any section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and should be screened by the section according to the criteria used in selecting recipients in the SPE Section Scholarship Support Program.
