PhD Scholarship@ University of Agder, Norway in Mathematics Education


Description: The University of Agder invites applications for a full-time fixed-term appointment for a period of three years as PhD Research Fellow in Mathematics Education at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Engineering and Science. The position is currently located in Kristiansand, Norway. The Faculty of Engineering and Science presently has a scientific group in mathematics education, and history of mathematics, including six professors, four associate professors and two research assistants. There are approximately 20 PhD candidates registered on the PhD programme. Over recent years the group has been responsible for a number of large mathematics teaching developmental research projects funded by the Research Council of Norway and has been host institution of the Nordic Graduate School in Mathematics Education.
The focus for the position will be directed towards teaching and learning mathematics within one of the current areas of research and development in the field of mathematics education at the University of Agder.
Proposals to research teaching and learning mathematics at university level are particularly sought and will be prioritised.
Proposals in other areas of research relevant to the interests of the Mathematics Education Research Group will be considered in the absence of sound proposals in the above mentioned area. These include:
* Developmental research in the teaching and learning of mathematics (from kindergarten to university level)
* Task design and implementation for teaching and learning mathematics
* ICT and teaching and learning mathematics
* History of mathematics
* Mathematics teacher education and professional development
Other areas within the areas of competence of the Mathematics Education Group may also be proposed by the applicants.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Information Security/Cryptology at Department of Telematics, @ Norwegian University of Technology Norway- Subject: Science


Description: A two year position is open for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of Cryptographic Protocols and Applications at Department of Telematics, Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).. The postdoc will be part of the ongoing research activities at the department, which include modelling, construction, analysis and implementation of robust and efficient cryptographic protocols, multiparty computations, voting schemes, and key distribution applied to mobile services and systems.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a doctorate degree, or be in the formal process for attaining this. The applicant should state the earliest possible starting date.

PostDoc Research Fellowship at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences@ Norway in University of Oslo in Cosmology



Requirements:The candidate must have a PhD or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in astronomy/astrophysics, physics or a related discipline.The selected candidate should preferably have a strong background in computational cosmology, with emphasis on programming experience and knowledge of modern statistical techniques. Candidates with prior experience in analysis of real LSS data will be prioritized.
The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.

* CV (summarizing education, positions, pedagogical experience, administrative experience and other qualifying activity)

PhD Research Fellow in Physiology, Norway in the department of Molecular bio-Sciences



Description: The aim is to identify network responses and cell-specific contributions to experience-dependent plasticity and perceptual learning. The candidate will in particular be engaged in high-density extracellular recordings from populations of neurons in vivo.
Experience
:
Candidates should have experience in physiological experiments or theoretical neuroscience.. The research fellow should be able to work independently The position also includes teaching, and some teaching experience is an advantage.The candidate will take part in a research project on neural processing and plasticity of cortical circuits in vivo in the laboratory of Marianne Fyhn and Torkel Hafting.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent. The fellowship requires A or B at the Master exam. When evaluating the application, emphasis will be given to applicant’s academic and personal abilities to carry out the project. Applicants may be called in for an interview
