Undergraduate International Scholarships @University of Queensland, Australia

Description: The scholarships are available for international students who have completed senior high school overseas equivalent to Queensland Year 12 (eg. A Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc). The scholarship is not available to students who have already commenced a postsecondary qualification or who are already studying in Australia. The successful applicants must be classed as an international student in Australia (Australian permanent residents and Australian citizens are not eligible).

Fellowship @ World Press Institute, USA -Subject: Any subject


Description: The WPI fellowship is offered to 10 journalists from countries around the world. The 2011 program will begin in mid August and end in mid-October. The fellows will spend a month in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, and then travel to several U.S. cities, including New York and Washington, D.C., for briefings, interviews and visits. They will returned to Minnesota for the final week of the program. See the 2010 Schedule for information on the 2010 fellowship and example of WPI events.
Eligibility:At least five (5) years full-time employment in print, broadcast, or online journalism.
Journalists can work for news or editorial departments of newspapers, wire services, radio, television, web sites, online publications or magazines of general public interest.
Photojournalists, editorial cartoonists, columnists and broadcast producers are also eligible.
Those who supervise journalists are eligible providing that they also have at least five years as a working journalist.
Any journalism-related work completed as a university student does not count toward experience. People who work in public relations or at organizations whose primary business is not the media are not eligible.
• Must be currently employed as a non U.S. journalist working outside of the United States.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.

High School Graduates Scholarship Program@ MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program, USA


Description: Scholarship recipients may pursue an undergraduate degree in an eligible field at one of the three host institutions. Recipients will also be expected to engage in community service activities and participate in internships. The scholarship covers travel, academic fees for four years of university at AUB, AUC, or LAU, a study abroad experience in the U.S., accident and sickness insurance, housing, and a monthly allowance.
Eligibility:The program is open to high school graduates from traditionally underserved communities in the Middle East and North Africa, who are qualified but unable to afford a college education. Students enroll at the undergraduate level in a 4-year or 5-year program, depending upon the course of study elected and if a first year of English language instruction is required. Applicants must be citizens of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE, or Yemen and cannot hold U.S. citizenship or be a U.S. Legal Permanent Resident.
Applications:*High school senior or applicant who graduated from high school in 2010;
* Strong academic credentials;
*Proficiency in written and spoken English with a minimum Institutional TOEFL (ITP) score of 500 or the equivalent that is less than two years old;
*Maturity, flexibility and leadership potential; and
*Ability to start the program in August/September of 2011.

Undergraduate, Graduate, Distance learning- Military Spouse Scholarship for Military ID-Carrying Uniformed Services’ Spouses @ National Military Family Association



Description: National Military Family Association scholarship funds are awarded only to military ID-carrying Uniformed Services’ spouses (active duty, retiree, Reserve, National Guard, and/or survivor); If notified you have been selected for a scholarship, you must provide a copy of current military dependent ID within one week, or your scholarship funds will be awarded to another card-carrying applicant. Graduate International Public Interest Fellowship 2011(Law) for those students who are an enrolled student of Wayne State University Law School @ Wayne State University



 

Description: Applicants can apply to up to five NGOs from a list of pre-approved partner organizations. The internships are intended to last approximately two months, roughly from June 1 to August 1. However, particular start and end dates may vary and will be negotiated with each individual organization.
Successful applicants will be placed with one of the partner NGOs based on (i) their listed preferences, (ii) fulfilling specific requirements of a particular group (i.e. language skills), (iii) preferences of the NGOs, and (iv) our assessment of an applicant’s qualifications. Because all of these factors must be considered, successful applicants must accept the placements they are given.

Qualifications: Applicants must:-Be an enrolled student of Wayne State University Law School
-Be able to leave and re-enter the United States legally
-Be qualified to receive an International PILF as financial aid. Have a FAFSA on file for 2010-2011.

Description: The Scholarships will cover up to 70% of the tuition fees (equivalent to 12.600,00 EUR – twelve thousand six hundred EUR). The amount of the scholarships will be discounted from the overall tuition fees. In case of course abandonment or exclusion for any reason, no amount of the scholarship will be paid or reimbursed.
Requirements: - academic degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline;

Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarships for Developing Countries (JJ/WBGSP) 2011, @ Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Japan-any subject



Description: This scholarship is offered jointly by the World Bank and the government of Japan. Criteria: Major Field of Study: The applicant must apply for one of APU’s International Cooperation Policy (ICP) Programs, however, the IMAT Program does not qualify for this scholarship.
Nationality and Residence: Applicants must be nationals of countries eligible to borrow from the World Bank. (Click here to see the World Bank’s Home Page for a list) Applicants who have been currently residing in an industrialized country for a period longer than one year will not be considered.
Allowance:  Monthly subsistence allowance of 170,000 yen (*amount subject to change for 2010) to cover living expenses, including housing and books (*see (2) in “Notes”)

#Economy class air travel between the home country and the host university at the start of the study program and one return journey following the end of the overall scholarship period. Qualifications:We are looking for highly qualified candidates from Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science both at student and postdoctoral level. Ph.D. students must hold a Masters Degree (diploma) requiring the completion of a master thesis or equivalent. Post-docs must hold a Ph.D. degree. A strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics, chemistry or biology is desirable. Previous experience using quantum mechanical methods and atomistic simulations and proficiency in scientific programming are essential.

Undergraduate Scholarship@ The Actuarial Foundation John Culver Woody Guidelines Academic Year 2011-2012, USA


                                                                             

Stipend: $2,000 scholarship for educational expenses.
Eligibility:Undergraduate students who will receive their undergraduate degree in December 2011, Spring or Summer 2012 and no later than August 31, 2012, rank in the top quartile of their class and have successfully completed one actuarial examination are eligible. Students must be recommended by a professor from their school (limit one application per school).
Application:Students must complete the application and write a brief essay as part of the application process (application item 6). Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential through extracurricular activities. The student should then submit the completed application and essay to a professor at the student’s school. Postdoctoral Researcher Inorganic Chemistry – Multiferroic Materials, Belgium @ Hasselt University




Study Subject: Inorganic Chemistry

Description: The candidate will perform research in the Group of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry (Institute for Materials Research) of the University of Hasselt and in collaboration with the group of EMAT of the University of Antwerp.
Requirement: PhD in science or engineering with a substantial background in inorganic chemistry and wet chemical synthesis of metal oxides. Candidates who will get a PhD degree in the near future are also allowed to apply. Interest or experience in the interdisciplinary research domain of multiferroic metal oxides is considered as an asset.
