PhD scholarship@ University of Copenhagen, Denmark- within Interaction Techniques for Wall-Sized Displays

Description: The Human Centered-Computing Group at the Department of Computer Science (DIKU), University of Copenhagen, Denmark invites applications for a PhD scholarship within Interaction Techniques for Wall-Sized Displays. The position is financed by the Programme Committee on Growth Technologies under the Danish Strategic Research Council. The WallViz project is a collaboration between the Departments of Computer Science at University of Copenhagen (DIKU) and Aarhus University, and three partner organizations: the Danish Ministry of Interior & Health, Microsoft and Autodesk. The project will aim to better decision making in these organizations by improving database techniques to provide fast responses to ad-hoc user queries and by using highly interactive wall-sized visualizations that allow fast-paced interactive and collaborative exploration of massive data collections.
Requirements: The candidate is expected to hold an MSc in computer science or similar. The successful candidate will document (a) good programming/technical skills, (b) experience with advanced interaction techniques, and (c) potential to work closely with the prospective users of the interaction technologies (in particular, the two Danish partner organizations).
