Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2011 @ TWAS-BIOTEC, Thailand- Subject: Biotechnology

Description: Fellowship For young scientists from developing countries (other than Thailand) who wish to pursue advanced research in the biotechnology at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Thailand.TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowships are tenable in BIOTEC and its affiliated research units for a period of twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months and are awarded to young scientists from developing countries (other than Thailand) to enable them to pursue advanced research in the biotechnology.
* BIOTEC will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food.

Requirements:
Candidate Should * Be nationals of a developing country (other than Thailand).
* Hold a PhD degree in any of the following fields: molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology and bioinformatics and related disciplines.
* Apply for the fellowship within five years of having obtained a PhD degree in the fields indicated above.
* Be regularly employed at a research and/or teaching institution in their home country where they must hold a research assignment.
* Provide an official Acceptance Letter from BIOTEC. Requests for acceptance must be directed to BIOTEC Research Unit Coordination Division (e-mail rucd [at] biotec.or.th) who will facilitate assignment of a host supervisor.
* Provide evidence of proficiency in English.

Description:The (ILRI) works at the crossroads of livestock and poverty, bringing high-quality livestock science, communications and capacity building to bear on poverty reduction and sustainable development. ILRI is one of 15 centres supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). ILRI has campuses in Kenya (headquarters) and Ethiopia, with other offices located in other regions of Africa (Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria) as well as in South Asia (India, Sri Lanka), Southeast Asia (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam) and East Asia (China).
Requirements Candidates must have a PhD degree obtained no more than 5 years ago in the field of microbiology, immunology or molecular biology
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to perform in multidisciplinary and multicultural research environment.
* Willingness and ability to travel to partners in Namibia and Europe.

Postdoctoral -South Africa and Egypt Joint Science and Technology Research Programme @ The Republic of South Africa and the Arab Republic of Egypt



Description
: Research fellowship for researchers from Egypt and South Africa in the field of Nanotechnology,Remote sensing and space science,ICT,Biotechnology (food production, agriculture and health), Laser technology.The Republic of South Africa and the Arab Republic of Egypt signed an Agreement forcooperation in science and technology on 28 October 1998. As part of enhancing scientific and technological cooperation, the two countries have decided to jointly support researchers from public universities and public research institutes on an equal
and mutually beneficial basis.
Stipend: Successful projects in South Africa will be funded up to a maximum amount of R300000 over two years. Egyptian projects will receive the equivalent in the national currency.Researchers should therefore note that two separate budgets would be required from each side. Researchers should take note that they will be responsible for their own
international travel, subsistence and accommodation.

Postdoctoral (Biotechnology) @ Regional Centre for Biotechnology-Young Investigator Awards


Description: The Centre invites young scientists having Ph D degree in any discipline of science and who are below the age of 35 years to work in the areas related (but not limited) to structural, systems, and chemical biology, biomaterials and nano science & technology, cellular and molecular biology, disease biology and drug discovery. Those likely to complete their Ph D degree in the next 3 months are also eligible to apply.
Time Period: 3 years which may be extended for two more years subject to satisfactory progress, based on a review by a committee of experts

Doctoral Fellowship at Faculty of Pharmacy in pharmacy, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry



Description:.We are looking for an applicant with a M.Sc. degree in a scientific discipline relevant to the tasks (such as pharmacy, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry). Preferably the applicant should have experience on cell-based screening assays and on analysis of screening data. The applicant must be fluent in English and possess excellent team and communication skills.
Salary:The salary for the present post will be based on levels 2–4 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. The salary range will be between EUR 2,000 and 3,000 per month depending on the qualifications and previous experience of the appointee.
