Description: UCS is one of the UK's most exciting higher education institutions, launched in 2007 in collaboration with the Universities of East Anglia and Essex. UCS provides a friendly, can do, innovative and ambitious environment for staff and students. Working with partners, it is focused on making a high impact at local, regional, national and international level. The posts are based at the stunning waterfront campus in Ipswich.
These key leadership posts arise from restructuring to best position University Campus Suffolk (UCS) in the wake of its new Strategic Plan - following the arrival of the new Provost, Professor Mike Saks. The appointments will provide inspirational leadership in teaching and learning, research and consultancy in their respective fields and will ideally be made at professorial level.
Appointees will promote student satisfaction, a research culture and income generation in their respective areas. Heads of School at UCS have significant authority and are members of the Executive Team - with substantial responsibility for budgets and developing their School's academic profile, not least through interdisciplinary working.
Successful candidates will be highly credible in their subject area and have an excellent record of academic leadership, teaching and learning, research and income generation. Proven success in securing external funding and meeting targets is essential. Candidates should meet our criteria for professorial appointments or will be expected to do so in the near future.
