Postdoctoral Position @ Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden in Antenna Systems: in design of antennas and components in waveguides



Description: This postdoc position has one year duration .Depending on the results of the first year’s study and the industrial interest, the Board of Chase may decide to extend both the size and duration of the project. The research will be to investigate the use of gap waveguides in radio links above 30 GHz, in collaboration with local industry and the antenna group.The employed person will work part of the time in an industrial environment, where he/she will learn about specifications and present state of the art in radio link RF technology. This knowledge will then be used to investigate
Qualifications: Recent PhD in related areas such as design of antennas and components in waveguides.
- Main author of several scientific publications in journals and at conferences. Experience with EM software such as CST Microwave Studio, HFSS and similar.
- Experience with research on metamaterials such as soft and hard surfaces and similar.
- Experience with practical design and measurements of antennas and waveguide components.

PhD Student Position @ The nuclear theory group -Chalmers University of Technology in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Quantum Few-Body Physics, Sweden



Description: A Ph.D. position at Chalmers is for 4 years of research and course work and can be extended for up to 1 extra year depending on the degree of involvement in teaching duties.The position is funded by the European Commission via the grant ERC-StG ANSR. The successful candidate will benefit from existing and productive scientific collaborations with researchers in Europe and North America.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a M.Sc. degree in Physics or Engineering Physics. The scientific interest of the candidate should be within theoretical physics. Experience and interest in computational physics methods is desirable.

Graduate International Public Interest Fellowship 2011(Law) for those students who are an enrolled student of Wayne State University Law School @ Wayne State University



 

Description: Applicants can apply to up to five NGOs from a list of pre-approved partner organizations. The internships are intended to last approximately two months, roughly from June 1 to August 1. However, particular start and end dates may vary and will be negotiated with each individual organization.
Successful applicants will be placed with one of the partner NGOs based on (i) their listed preferences, (ii) fulfilling specific requirements of a particular group (i.e. language skills), (iii) preferences of the NGOs, and (iv) our assessment of an applicant’s qualifications. Because all of these factors must be considered, successful applicants must accept the placements they are given.

Description: This position is suitable for recently PhD qualified candidates. The awarded candidate will work on the characterization of the mitochondrial and cytosolic enzymatic pathways in the onset and unfolding of neurodegenerative diseases. Ph.D Fellowships in Signal Processing: Target Tracking Using Airborne Sensors


Description: This Ph.D. project concerns analysis and development of new algorithms for target tracking in complicated environments, involving multiple targets and uncertain measurements due to partial occlusion, heavy clutter, etc. The project is a collaboration between the Signal Processing Group at Chalmers University of Technology, Saab Electronic Defense Systems, and Saab Bofors Dynamics, and it is sponsored by Vinnova and Swedish industry under the program NFFP 5.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a suitable background is a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Engineering Physics or similar. A strong background in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Signal Processing is an advantage. Communication skills and social competence are other important factors, and you should not be afraid to challenge your limits.

Post-Doc(PIV Measurements) in Experimental Fluid Dynamics


Description: The projects are directed for development of novel aero-engines and future efficient transport. The candidate will take responsibility for organising and conducting laboratory experiments using particle-image velocimetry (PIV). Experiments will be performed using modern advanced equipment and state-of-the-art research facilities which are described here.
