Scholarships for African, Asian, Central and Eastern European Countries and Austrian citizens
Level: Graduate and Masters
Scholarship: Support is provided in particular to students who want to take studies in the areas of technology, natural science and economic science.The scholarship is granted for studies in Austria. Scholarship holders are expected to complete their studies in Austria. Scholarships are awarded for basic university programs.It will not be awarded to students who are already studying in Austria
Fellowship: € 12.000,- for an academic year (further scholarships will be deducted from this amount)
* Travel scholarship, if necessary, of up to € 1.000,- per year
* Advice and support for the scholarship holders in connection with visa, insurance, language courses and search for accommodation
* The Board of the foundation is exclusively responsible for the selection of students
* The scholarship holders of the “Austrian Student Scholarship” are not required in any event to work for the Mondi Group after completing their studies
* Maximum of 40 Scholarship holders (admission of 10 to 14 scholarship holders each year).

Subject: We are looking to recruit highly motivated postdocs and doctoral students to work in Applied bioinformatics, Functional genomics, Evolutionary fungal biology, or Fungal molecular biology with primary focus on developing a comparative genomics platform on Fungal Pathobiology.
Qualifications: A postdoctoral researcher is required to have a doctoral degree and the ability to do independent scientific work as well as having the necessary teaching skills.
A person selected for the post of doctoral student is required to have a Master’s degree and an accepted research plan. In addition, he/she is required to have shown, when acquiring his/her degree and otherwise, the ability and motivation for postgraduate studies and completion of a doctoral degree in accordance with a study and research plan.
Applicants: Students and postdocs with good academic records and strong skills in Applied bioinformatics, functional genomics, evolutionary biology and molecular biology are welcome to apply to any of the positions. Knowledge in plant or forest pathology and mycology are considered as additional merits. A good knowledge of English is required.
The salary for postdoctoral researchers will be, depending on the appointee’s performance and experience approximately between 34 000 and 49 000 (postdocs), and between 23 600 and 42 000 (doctoral students) euros per annum.

PhD Fellowships in Solid State NMR, Laboratory of Physical Chemistry
The second project focuses on the development of a low-temperature magic-angle spinning (MAS) probe at low temperatures (10 K) using liquid Helium for cooling. Such a probe will be used to study tunneling pand hyperpolarization phenomena. Successful candidates have graduated in physics or chemistry with a strong interest in experimental work and building hardware. The PhD students will also participate in teaching activities at the institute.

Pakistan : Four year Undergraduate programme @National Outreach Programme at LUMS
Apply: The applicants need to submit their National Outreach Programme (NOP) application forms after receiving their matriculation results. The applicants short-listed on the basis of the eligibility criteria appear in the Preliminary Evaluation Test. After being selected on the basis of this test the students are coached and registered for the entrance test, fully funded by LUMS. Finally, the students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit, are offered admission on full scholarship. There is no separate quota for National Outreach Programme (NOP) candidates. All students, whether they apply directly or through National Outreach Programme (NOP), are evaluated on the same criteria. As regards assessment of financial need, a review committee has been established to ensure transparency in the process of awarding scholarships to all those who qualify for the admission through the National Outreach Programme (NOP).

The admission status is communicated by the end of July each year. Finally, the applicants who qualify on merit are offered admission at LUMS and are eligible for the National Outreach Programme (NOP) scholarship.
