PhD Position in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Quantum Few-Body Physics, @ Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden- Subject: Physics or Engineering Physics

Description: The Ph.D. research project will lie within one, or several, of these fields. A Ph.D. position at Chalmers is for 4 years of research and course work and can be extended for up to 1 extra year depending on the degree of involvement in teaching duties.The position is funded by the European Commission via the grant ERC-StG ANSR. The successful candidate will benefit from existing and productive scientific collaborations with researchers in Europe and North America.
Requirements: Applicants should have a M.Sc. degree in Physics or Engineering Physics. The scientific interest of the candidate should be within theoretical physics. Experience and interest in computational physics methods is desirable.

Postdoctoral and PhD positions in Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science

Applications: Applications are invited for postdoctoral and PhD positions link to a five year project on the topic of Dynamical processes in open quantum systems as part of an European Research Council Advanced grant (DYNamo project). The successful candidate will work on one (or more) of the following general topics linked to the ERC-DYNamo project:

Qualifications:We are looking for highly qualified candidates from Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science both at student and postdoctoral level. Ph.D. students must hold a Masters Degree (diploma) requiring the completion of a master thesis or equivalent. Post-docs must hold a Ph.D. degree. A strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics, chemistry or biology is desirable. Previous experience using quantum mechanical methods and atomistic simulations and proficiency in scientific programming are essential.

PhD Scholarship and Master’s Programme @ France, ENS Cachan 2011-2012 in Sciences: applied mathematics, computer sciences, physics, chemistry, biology etc.





Description: The grant amounts to 1000 euros/month, for a duration of stay of 6 to 12 months.
The selection is made in two steps : pre-selection and final selection. In order to participate in the programme, you must first apply on line.
Eligibility:Master’s degree candidates must justify of a 1st year of master’s degree or equivalent obtained outside of France
* PhD candidates must have a minimum qualification of master’s degree or equivalent obtained outside France or be following a PhD outside of France

Country:This Scholarship Programme is open to students of all nationalities.
Language skills:A good knowledge of the French language is required for students applying for a complete academic year in a Research Master level 2.Age:
For RM2 level admission, candidates must be less than 26 years old when starting their training at ENS Cachan.
Students who are not eligible:* Foreign candidates who are registered, in view of obtaining a diploma, in a French higher education institution.
* Candidates who have already been awarded another grant for the same period.
* Previous years’ grant holders*.
