Description: This Scholarship is established to encourage the development of research, documentation, and teaching skills in the field of horticulture. It was established in 2010.Funds one or more scholarships annually at $2000 to support study at an accredited college, university, or major botanic garden or arboretum. Projects may include but are not restricted to plant propagation, photographic documentation of studies and research projects, the acquisition of skills for working with horticulture collections, and research in horticulture in the broadest sense.
Requirements : Open to college undergraduates and graduate students, advanced degree candidates, or non-degree-seeking applicants above the high school level.

The GCA Interchange Fellowship and RHS McLaren Horticultural Scholarship @ The Garden Field Of America – USA – 2011 – 2012 – Horticulture and Related Fields


Description: The GCA Interchange Fellowship & Martin McLaren Scholarship name was changed in 2009 to the GCA Interchange Fellowship/RHS McLaren Horticultural Scholarship.For one American scholar (McLaren Scholar) annually, 8500 British pounds for ten months of enrichment study under the auspices of the Royal Horticultural Society. The McLaren Trust and the RHS cover the cost of transportation, tuition, housing, board, and an allowance for personal needs during the American student’s academic year in Great Britain. The GCA makes travel arrangements to the U.K. Any additional funds for personal expenses exceeding the allowance are supplied by the candidate.For one British scholar (Interchange Fellow) annually, up to $30,000 USD. The GCA covers the cost of tuition, university or equivalent housing, meal plan, and university health plan, as well as $750 per semester for books and study materials, and $300 per month for personal incidentals and travel expenses to selected GCA meetings.
Requirements: The Students who have earned a BA or BS degree, and are for a single unaccompanied person. Applicants must be 26 or younger because of the age limit on student travel vouchers in Great Britain and Europe. Selected finalists must attend a required interview at their own expense and will be notified of the time and place.
