NRF SA Biosystematics Initiative- Subject: Technology

Description: Funding aims to support the dissemination of research findings, and will give preference to projects that use technology, such as online electronic keys. Supported formats include:
* online annotated image rich dichotomous keys;
* online interactive dichotomous keys;
* online dynamic, matrix-based keys, such as those generated using Lucid or Delta.

Applicants must be full time or part-time employees at an NRF-recognised research institution in South Africa.
Funding is worth up to R50,000 over one year. Award amount maximum: R50,000

NRF Call for Nominations: Improving Academic Qualifications of Academic Staff and Researchers, South Africa-Level-Phd


Description:The National Research Foundation (NRF) is pleased to announce the availability of additional funds for the 2010/11 fiscal year. The Minister of Science and Technology has approved the reprioritisation of the Departmental 2010/11 budget to support the increased research productivity and production of high level skills needed to support the National Research and Development Strategy. Additional funds have been allocated to the NRF for improving the qualifications of academic staff and researchers at public-funded higher educational institutions and science councils.
Requirements: To qualify for this grant, applicants must be in the process of completing the research for their doctoral studies and preparing a dissertation for examination. The award will be conditional on the grant recipient submitting the doctoral dissertation for examination and producing at least one scientific publication in an accredited journal within one year following the completion of the sponsored leave period. The successful nominees will be expected to relinquish their teaching and administrative duties for the duration of the award.

Graduate NRF Scholarships for African students for B-Tech/Honors Study for 2011@ Tshwane University of Technology South Africa



Requirement::Candidate must be a South African Citizen or Permanent resident
• Full-time for final year B-Tech Degree.
• Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged students
• Obtain at least 60% in the main subjects at National Diploma level.
• Not failed any major subjects taken during the final year of National Diploma.
• The National Diploma must have been completed in the minimum period.

Application :1 Application Forms can be obtained from Head of Departments & Research and Innovation office (Building 20, Room 132)
2. All completed application forms (with relevant attachments) must be submitted to your Head of Department for evaluation and approval.
