Postdoctoral Researcher @ University of Bristol - School of Biological Sciences

Description:  The Research Fellow position is available to undertake an ERC-funded project to investigate mechanisms of generation of iridescence in tropical plants, and the potential impacts of this iridescence on plant growth and development. The project will use a number of plant physiology and plant molecular biology techniques.
Requirements:1). Candidates must have a knowledge of laboratory techniques including transcriptome and candidate gene analysis and heterologous gene expression in plants. A background in plant cell wall development would be a plus.
2). Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant subject area and an experimental laboratory background is essential. You should be an enthusiastic and innovative scientist, a good team-worker and an excellent communicator.
Time period:  The position is full-time and available immediately for a period of more than four years
